Question for GPD regarding strikes in mount

Do any mod's or even players know with absolute certainty what stat controls your punch speed in mount? I always thought it was the ground n pound stat itself but it doesn't say that in the description. Is it the ground n pound stat, the fighters punch speed stat, or does every weight class have the exact same punch speed in mount postured up?

GnP strikes needs to be addressed. It's really weird. It feel very laggy and too much slow. IMO, EA UFC1 was much better than now. Some positions GnP is OP compared with real life. So, every fight ends Knockout on the ground position. It's wrong direction about tko scenario. Sometimes It has been cancelled when your opponent attempt transition first a little bit faster than your GnP. It feel very turn-base. GnP strikes should more freely and reduce power relates to their stamina.

My fights don't all end in a knockout in the ground position. What kind of a statement is that? Block then transition. Sounds like you're just letting people punch you in the head (unless there was a translation issue with what you actually meant).

I really like the GnP in this game. It has a severe risk for transition spammers and big reward for patient players. That is awesome. The only thing I'd agree could be tuned down a bit is the hit stun or reaction (I don't care what the difference is) during which I can't regain block posture (particularly when I've been watchful of stamina, etc.).

I think, you are a few ppl who like the GnP of EA UFC2. I don't like the GnP logic in this game because it feel very laggy and limited. I don't know whether you've heard them before, GnP was more slower and feel laggy than now in the close beta version. Many players complaint about that. GPD, tweaked it after the beta service, but I think, it's not enough.

I think this:
http://www.operationsports.com/forum...s-how-use.html

In clinch/Ground Strike SPEED depends on: - my Stamina
- not depends on my fighter’s attributes
- not depends on my striking limb’s Health

So, your stamina level is the ONLY factor that affects your Strike's speed in Clinch/Ground.
GnP attribute i think affects Strike's damage in Clinch/Ground.
May be i am wrong, so i hope GPD will correct and give us an answer...

The ground n pound is fine and doesn't need changing.

I already know that the speed slows down as stamina gets lower. That's the same with everything in the game basically. What I'm asking is what determines the speed of the strikes in mount in the first place. I need to know whether it's down to a specific stat or if all fighters in all divisions have the exact same base punch speed in mount and other positions on the ground.

Re: Question for GPD regarding strikes in mount

yup as Sugata stated I'm pretty sure no stats (besides your current stam level) affect it

hopefully GPD can answer 110% but I really don't think punch speed, or GnP, affects your strike speed in mount

I believe Back Constrictor allows you to strike more quickly from Back Side Mount. I love using that w/ my HW CAF

Related --- but somewhat separate --- I think that the damage your elbows and knees do in clinch ought to be somewhat tied to your leg/hand power!

For example --- my LW CAF Joe Frazier --- Just hit division 6; OVR 82; 80% win rate --- his LLP and RLP are about 30

because I set him up 100% to be a boxer/wrestler/GnP specialist

But he can still do some nasty damage with knees in MT! Kinda dumb lol

Overall I do like the GnP in UFC 2 --- I wish (non-MT) clinch strikes did more damage, especially 4 or 5 unanswered uppercuts in Single Collar --- but I hope in UFC 3 they will make it a bit more nuanced with a few more variables in there surrounding speed and effectiveness of strikes
