can be a tough position for sure

(but that's true in real life)

I'd definitely just try to block not one, but TWO strikes in a row; then try to transition/break/spin him against the cage

sometimes easier said than done, especially if a big stat difference, or LAG --- but that's your only hope sir lol

(or a takedown --- you can get some leg sweeps with your back off the cage sometimes)

Ya some guys have such high clinch stats that even when you block a strike they can land another one before your transition completes.

Clinch is a mess.

Gotta fake transitions sometimes, or if they're interrupting your transitions with strikes, gain grapple advantage by striking back and/or blocking strikes. I can't imagine someone can do a ton of damage in single collar anyway.

A lot of times though, the best thing is to not put your back against the fence in the first place.

Clinch is king and can overwhelmingly make a fight drastically unbalanced...as with with side saddle especially with a hefty stat advantage..

The stat differences make it that way. Not the clinch itself. Why so many things are more exaggerated in UT as compared to ranked. The stat differences will always make things worse. Same as on the ground.

Jon Jones can throw a punch in clinch, I can block it and then try and transition, he can then follow it up with a knee before my transition completes. Very few guys in the game can do that.
