The latency has been worse from the start this game. Although, the game itself might just make it seem worse because everything is much more important now. Timing is critical.

Grapple could be rewritten to do something similar to GGPO, but it would have been too big of a change and wouldn't have been possible in the timeframe we had for UFC 2. Even if the grappling system already existed.

The engine is built around this specific p2p network model.

Changing that is a huge undertaking.

I have no idea about matchmaking, but my guess is it's a tradeoff and it will never be perfect.
For the first time i hear from you about possibility to bring GGPO like rollback netcode to EA UFC - even in EA UFC 3 it would be awesome!

new stand up striking + improved Clinch (with missed elements from ground grappling) + Online Camps + new rollback netcode = EA UFC 3 = the best UFC game ever!

I will buy two!

Lag in this game is nothing compared to lag in online games back when I was a kid!!!

To be honest, 90% of fights have little to no lag, at least what I've played on PS4 (hard wired connection, too)

only people I have consistent lag with are those who seem to be obvious Brazilians/Russians/Europeans (based on name at least lol)

I mean, I hate lag, and hope they continue to try and streamline (especially non-internet related input lag!) --- but --- this game is a dream to play online compared to say, Fight Night 4, or even games much earlier than that on PC when I had a 14.4kbps modem lol --------

I'm old

I agree with Boiler here.

I don't really have lag all that often tbh.

There's something in the SUB mini game yes.

Nothing in the standup. Not really possible.

Latency doesn't always present as lag. The latency can really mess with the game's mechanics.

so basically if u re on good side of lag and u queue ur combo fast enough, opponent wont have time react because what he will see on his display will be delayed?
because that exactly sounds like my game experience in some matches
i am getting 1,2 strikes before my fighter even react with block or movement or anything
