I also wish strikes in submissive clinch were more powerful. fighters have been dropped from punches while holding someone in double collar.

Weedman - Silva
&
Saunders - Cote

Are the first that come to mind.

It's surprisingly rare though. That would be tough to balance properly.

Rose vs Karolina I think. fighters have been rocked in that scenario as well, DC vs Gus, Cowboy vs Alvarez

Re: why does it take so long to break out of the clinch?

I would expect this to be revamped. Too many complaints. They will likely make strong strikes like knees to the head break the clinch when landing it. As it should on most. Uppercuts will likely do damage, but also have like a 3 strike limit before it breaks (Think Undisputed 3. Their clinch was great because you would strike your way out, and could strike out of it. Kept the flow much better.) Hooks should allow both to strike. There should only be a short advantage for initiating the clinch. Basically have to clinch and strike at the same time, or have your opponent able to strike first. Depends on the entry of course. We should be able to Frye/Takayama it. (Both using hooks at the same time.) Hopefully they will add strike catching here as well. Since that makes perfect sense in close. Arm trapping does happen. So do knee catches.

We'll see. I have high hopes. The ground is basically there. Just need the striking to match.

If I had better options in the clinch, I probably wouldn't have so much beef with the ground. I'd say a good 80% or more of me getting taken down happens when they first clinch with me.
