That said, Knockout Mode was a cool little addition to UFC 2; maybe expand on that, and maybe make it Multiplayer too???

Since I know EA doesn't want to make the game SUPER REALISTIC since it will tune out casual fans....button mashing arcade fans (nothing wrong with them!) can have 'their' game mode, and hardcore MMA fans can have our own mode.

Agree that we don't want death rocks like UFC 1 --- I'm hoping a revamped physics system + more focus on 'perfect timing, perfect distance, perfect strike' --- rather than combo multiplier or parry spam/etc. --- will be the fix to striking we're all looking for
Man i'm hoping for more realistic striking too. Tired of playing MMA/Tekken.

How about this as the *TOP* thing we all want --- and I think you will all agree ---- a 110% REVAMPED and IMPROVED Finish The Fight Sequence

This includes both

* Rocked, but standing

* When knocked down, but trying to stay alive (or conversely, opponent trying to finish you with ground and pound --- or better yet; switch into a SUBMISSION )

Not an easy mechanic to pull off BUT this is really the most important part of the fight...when one of the fighters is hurt and the other tries to put him/her away....I think this really takes priority over almost any other item we've talked about, thoughts guys??
Yup this. This is the kind of thing I meant when I said interactive rocked states like in UD3. Theirs is the perfect example. It was fully interactive. When you rocked someone and they were on the ground or ended up getting knocked down and you jumped on them for the finish, as the attacker you had three options. You could try to finish with GnP, try to lock in a submission and you could try to advance position. As the defender, you could block and try to sway to avoid incoming strikes, you could try to catch strikes (which would allow you to regain posture control and recover) and you could also block their transitions, should they try to advance position or lock in a sub. It was definitely the closest thing to how it is irl and it allowed the players to have more control over the outcome. EA needs to put this kind of thing in the game...no more wiggling sticks to recover.

Re: Must haves for the third installment?

- instant replay with 360 camera
- fight for the title in career mode, and defend it (like ufc 3 had)
- getting rocked on the ground
- combo multiplier on ground
- ground and pound
- online fight camp
- spectator mode
- 60 fps

Re: Must haves for the third installment?

The only "must have" I have for UFC 3 is 60fps

I need to know more about the game to give detailed must haves, because any must haves I have for UFC 2 might not be relevant anymore because of things being reworked.

I find most of the feedback lately 100% pointless.

I'm pretty sure everyone expects 60 fps at this point, I sure won't buy UFC 3 if its 30fps does everyone agree ?

Very probably not. FPS locked games usually use the FPS to do the physics and other things, so making one version 60 and one 30 isn't really a thing they can easily do.

I would like 60 but it isn't a deal breaker.
