Striking appears to be getting that treatment this year.

Modes need the biggest improvement IMO. That's where the game gains a longer shelf life and alleviates the whole we feel like we are waiting forever in between games.

yeah grappling TRANSITIONS had a huge evolution, but i hope they put grapping more fluid, grappling isnt about just deny like is now... hope they figure it out and of course make gnp less robotic...

Exactly, its like people expect for the game to be a whole new game just because they decided to wait longer to release it even though a lot of that has to do with them working on other projects and putting this one on the side.

Like it should not take 2 years to improve striking and single player for this game... Add an auction house and tweak it, but these dev cycles are insane.

And the people who argue about the madden yearly model, you really think that if you wait an extra year you will see something special? There is only so much you can do to a game before there is nothing left besides changing colors and the way things look.

Sure the game is not at madden's level yet, but it was in a very decent point, a full year of development should have been enough to fix striking and expand on single player, no reason to have anything beyond that, especially when the game was not in bad shape to begin with.

Serious question: How do you know this?

What would make you think that all of the changes (which at this point you dont know about any of them) could be done in a year?

Also, its not 2 yrs. Its 18-20 mos. UFC 3 will likely be out before the end of the year and the UFC 2 dev cycle was 20 mos.

To my knowledge, aren't sports titles usually unique in their every year cycle?

I would love it if they got to a yearly development cycle because it would mean they are in a great place and are just adding to a solid foundation. But I feel like most games that aren't sports title don't hold themselves to a yearly release either do they?

That's true other than games like Call of Duty and Assassins Creed.

Well that's very interesting! Was not expecting that.
