Body types matter

So when making CAFs you can make a fighter as big, or as small as possible and it doesn't actually have any effect of their stats, or movement. You see this exploited the most in UT where almost everyone has 6'5 monsters because there's no reason really to make a fighter any shorter. The 6'5 guy is just as fast as the 5'9 guy, but also has a 10 inch reach advantage... There's just really no reason to make a shorter fighter.

It would be really cool to see the size of your fighter, both in height and girth, have an effect on power, movement, speed, etc.

I randomly came across this video, and something similar to a system like this would be awesome.

I'm really hoping to see something like this in EA UFC 3.

To add to that, I would like weight to matter as well. I can make my HW the same size, weighing 265 or 206 and it makes no difference whatsoever. Maybe more weight would give a better top game (crushing presence inbuilt?) but would also lower the gas tank or movement speed? Just an idea

Re: Body types matter

This was one of my biggest issues with UFC 2. CAF body types weren't very good, for one, and secondly it's not like they actually mattered towards the game. As you said, why not make everyone as tall as you can considering it's not making a difference to be smaller? Weight doesn't exist in the UFC games.

It is a tricky fix though, I'll admit. Because you want to be able to give the player freedom to create the fighters they want, and maybe some people want to max their stats on huge CAFs.

But I personally lean towards what you're suggesting. Think it would add a lot more balance, and make fighters more unique.

Re: Body types matter

It makes sense, and maybe they can mix it in. I was under the impression body types do affect stats because my dude is not huge, but strong and was dropping some mad elbows from top guard. But I'm also to new to UFC 2. So I don't want to adamantly say I believe body types effect stats when I don't even know, lol. I loved 1, though. It seemed they removed coach videos from UFC 2.... those were some of my favorite things... It is what it is

It's true that people take advantage of things... I believe a 6'5, 300lb fighter should 9 times out of 10 not be as quick as a 5"9, 170 pound fighter, for example. But I'm also new to UFC 2 and I don't want to complicate things for Devs... It seems from my first match, there are people out there who want to abuse stats or moves just for the win.. It's human nature.

Personally, I like it the way it is in a way... You know? It challenges me and makes me a greater virtual fighter. But, I defer to those more experienced with UFC 2 gameplay.
