Actually not gimmicky at all, and extremely realistic. Controlling your breathing is EXTREMELY important while fighting IRL. You see guys like Cruz visibly taking in huge breaths of air, but everyone has breathing techniques, whether they are as obvious as Cruz or not.

Pretty cool idea actually.

Actually i was taught both techniques he is reffering too(the first one is a basic weightlifting tip, and the 'gracie breathing technique' in bjj, my coaches are a third degree and fourth degree black belts under rickson gracie) in both examples he gave and he osnt technically wrong. But it would make a terrible in game mechanic.

In real life foot work is extremely important. If you cross your feet in real life its a hige mistake and can cost you. Do you think we should add a mechanic so that we control both fighters feet so we make sure they dont cross? No. Just too gimkicky IMO

And i never said it was as simple as "just breathing" but were still talking about a game and a mechanic that just gives you a burst of stamina is stupid imo

From a realism standpoint it's cool yes as fighters do control their breathing irl, but in a game like this it would just end up being gimmicky for sure. If I wanna refill my stamina or get some kind of boost I just push in the stick. It's sort of almost like letting your V-guage build in street fighter or something. Block a few strikes, let your guage build up or use some of it to perform a ex strike for damage boost. I know it's not exactly like that, but that's the kind of concept I get from it.

I'd much rather they perfect the fundamentals before adding small ideas such as this. It should be about further developing the base when it comes to UFC 3.

The concept, is basically, imagine a game like EA UFC 2 + add that mechanic in place to add an even deeper layer to the game.

It wouldn't be nescessary, it could be considered an advanced technique or what not, me personally i'd much rather i had something like that rather than the current lean to avoid a jab then go for a magic blink sort of takedown.
