Good video. Totally agree. They are really holding back their own game.

I dont really expect it to change too much though, I mean, they weren't even close to handling this the way it should have been in the first 2 games.

Talking both attributes and movesets, the combined effort of EA and UFC on this particular matter did not bring much good at all.

Otherwise.

No.

But even then. Jones isn't the fastest, the strongest, he doesn't have the best cardio, etc. It's his fight IQ, height, and reach that make him so good. Which isn't reflected in stats at all.

You could lower Jons OVR by 10 points in UFC 2, and he would still be amazing just because that height and reach.. No need to buff him to the point every other fighter in the weight class is useless.

Just make it realistic.

Then I suppose we understand eachother, but still disagree.

Jones, and MM, are the only long reigning, completely dominant champions though.

Should Bisping, Woodley, and Stipe, etc, be super buffed just because theyre champs?

Absolutely not.

I don't understand what you disagree about?

You'd rather have artificial, unrealistic stats to place a fighter into a set category, than just have the most realistic stats possible?

Whaaaaaaaaat???

It's so insanely simple.

Just make realistic stats.

Like, why even bother discussing anything else.

Just make the stats as close to real as possible.

It's so incredibly simple......

Completely agree with MM, i underlined his video few months ago.
Concerning stats, first version of Bisping was awful but his buff made him a solid striker.
he should be like this since the beginning mostly his stamina stat which was really awful since the first game.
The other issue is the move list, why Thai fighter expect few ones dont have the Barboza leg kick? Shogun, A.Silva, Aldo...
Take the Hunt move list, that made him completely tasteless to use.
Give him for example the Melendez moves and you will see more Hunt on ranked. For Sure!

We need MAJ stats and a solid points system in ranked which will oblige players to diversify their fighters selection.

Re: Please God - NO TIERED stat system for UFC 3

I think no fighter should be peerless.

And I can understand your surprise about my stance. To be fair, I didn't detail it. It is something I've discussed at some length in the GC chat, so I'm being extra careful with NDA stuff - and I apologize in advance. However, I suppose I can mention the gist of what I have in mind and argue for.

It is about making artificial adjustments toward balance, while still prioritizing realism. Keep the more objective stuff there, sacred - objective here meaning an overwhelming agreement that Fighter A is better than Fighter B at a certain stat. However, steer the stats toward balance (towards the gravitating OVRs of each tier) on cases that are more subjective, like "how much better is this guy better than that guy on that stat?". The result might not be "total balance", but it will probably still be very balanced. And it would not hurt realism overtly.

The tiers I am proposing are "ranked", "unranked" and "not in the UFC".

So no, Bisping would have still fallen into the "ranked" tier.

And the tiers are meant to capture the impact ratings have on tangible things in game.

So if two fighters have ratings that fall into the ranked tier, they are considered balanced.

That doesn't necessarily mean two ranked fighters have to actually have ratings that fall into those tiers.

But they most likely would, since the assumption is that a ranked fighter has a baseline level of competency to be in that category.

It also gives some guidance that a high level unranked tiered fighter fighter and a low level ranked tiered fighter should be competitive with each other, even if they aren't completely balanced.
