Re: Should the overhand be considered a basic strike?

If it means I can use someone like GSP, Cyborg, Gadelha, Dodson, and the other umpteen hundred fighters that have supermans without worrying about forgetting about it, throwing it and getting smacked or interruped... god yes.

I hate the superman, and the ducking hook. If I could Id have every fghter I use have overhands, for the other strikes maybe have a distance modified on them. I think it waa the UD series that at certain ranges youd throw specific strikes. Something like that would be great. If Im kicking distance away, itd be a auperman or ducking hook since they have some range to them, if Im in bosing range, overhand

In FNC at range, moving forward and punching would result in a lunging punch.

The Superman punch and ducking hook could be variations on that, like you said Heretic.

I would say no. This is not considered one of the four fundamental punches in boxing. Only fighters that have thrown an overhand should have it, just like any other specialty technique.

I wouldn't mind if it was. It's a pretty common strike now.

In every past UFC game the overhand has competed with other strikes for the same input. Meaning a fighter could not have a superman punch/ducking hook AND an overhand on that same side.

Now my opinion is that the overhand should have its own input for every fighter, just like jabs, straights, hooks ,uppercuts.

If a fighter doesnt throw them often, the overhand for them should just be really bad instead of not having it at all.

Anyone agree, disagree?
Agree 100 percent.Like when the game first came out some fighters that always throw over hand rights had a superman punch instead lol what where they thinking.I agree though it should be weaker on fighters lesser know to throw bombs.
