This is why having separate kick & punch combo speed is so important. It was in EA MMA, but I did like how the devs said that certain people will have their own unique combos. With stamina being a thing still, it shouldn't be too cheesy. I think they've made some kind of changes so fighters that can throw combos, are more unique. I'm just hoping something like combo ratings or perks are added.

Imagine how the EA police must feel trying to keep track of it all.

In terms of realistic fighting being rewarded, we have several anecdotal accounts that point to that being the case.

All the UFC fighters we brought in who were gamers picked up the game very quickly and were playing competitively with the dev team within about an hour of practice.

And just yesterday Brian Hayes told me that he played against this EA employee who was visiting from out of town for meetings, and he wanted to play UFC 3. He hadn't played the game except for once I think 4 mouths ago.

Brian started going easy on him and quickly realized the guy was extremely competent. He decided to just play normally against him, and the guy did a slip back evade and countered with a 3 strike combo to KO Brian.

Brian asked him if he had been practicing UFC 3, and the guy said that he hadn't played at all, but was an avid fighting game fan and was able to pick up the fundamentals very quickly.

Both of these examples give me high hopes that realistic play styles will indeed be rewarded.

We won't really know for sure until the beta.

Re: Fighting Realistically VS Unrealistically Advantage

I just wanted to say shooting takedowns and spamming submissions is absolutely a realistic playing style.

That's a good sign. My console just arrived today, so I'm ready for the beta that I will surely get in, without a doubt. Hopefully anyway.

This is good to know and that's definitely the way it should be. That's what comes with a more realistic striking and damage system.
