What is being changed in the submissions?

It's obviously getting tweaked, but how? I think the new way is kind of nice, but having the most advanced gate shrink lowest is killing it. My first instinct is to just increase the speed for the defender, but playing around a bit, wouldn't it make more sense to change where the gates reset to. Have the most advanced gate shrink the least, so the defender starts focusing on that one while you start to work a different angle?

The idea of shrinking the biggest game the most is encouraging the players to move all gates near equally, up to the one before the lst, then use the 2 or 3 gate tactic (the classic one) for the last gate.

This mechanic is horrible though. Your basically telling me every submission attempt is close to tapping before/if they get out. The old sub system was superior.

It is possible to escape before the last stage. It happens quite a bit, mostly when the set is bad for the attacker.

Pretty much. And chains can nly be executed if you have a very high level at the sub, which is very rare. I worry about UT, though.

In general, I liked that they took the risk of changing the system. In UFC 2, we had the benefit of balance, but many of the escape animations were wasted. Most subs had 5 gates available in the animation library, but many of them had always the same amount of gates, 3 or 4, in the game. This time it is possible to see all the animations, as long as someone has a low level at each submission. And this also adds a rather qualitative element to fighter variety... as fighter who is a true specialist at some submission will have fewer gates at it. This will feel like a big deal.

The first time I heard of this idea I was like: "Heeeellllll no! Too risky!" . But later I ended up liking it. I hope there will be more titles and we won't even need a minigame anymore, at some point.

Why is forcing everyone to use all 4 gates a priority? Seems it's hindering the defenders escape strategy options. Not the other way around.
