I just tested and can confirm it does not stop submission reversals.

Well there you go, I never knew that, been playing 2 since launch, never once thought about even trying to swoop a reversal, crazy. Never had it done to me either.

Though when you say reversal, but not sweep, what do you mean?
It'll cancel a transition reversal into a regular denial yeah?
So say you go to pass guard on Khabib, and he denies and gets the reversal to full guard, am I supposed to be swooping at 80-90% of the blue meter?

Is that how it works?

I always just swooped at 90% of a transition, and while I'm sure it was placebo effect or something, it felt quicker than filling the meter, it feels like the transition begins when I swoop, if you do it before 85% it takes the normal amount of but swooping at 85%+ really makes it feel faster.. That's weird if that's always been solely in my head..

Either way, it should provably be mentioned in a tutorial other than GPDs grappling breakdown, I read about it in the breakdown and as you see, completely misinterpreted its use for the following 20 months..

I don't think it's cheap, but I think he is saying that because it was only explained if you read all of GPDs grapple breakdown, and is not explained at all in game, so all the players who missed the grappling break down have no idea it exists and thus are at a disadvantage.

I read the grappling breakdown and missed the fact you can stop reversals with them, I only knew about the stamina reduction on transitions and I thought they sped up the transition TBH, so I've been running around using it wrong for 20 months solely cause I didn't re-read the breakdown post release and I don't have any advanced players to learn or hear about this stuff from on my PS4.

I think what the dudes saying is this all needs to be explained in game to create a level playing field.

That's it man. It definitely needs to be explained in the game. When you get reversed, you will actually notice the blue meter turn yellow towards the end. If you time the swoop right, it will cancel their reversal and turn it into a regular deny, keeping you in the same position.
A sweep is just a transition that gets the player on bottom into top. A reversal are those that require an early deny.

My bad, I'm always calling sweeps reversals and reversals sweeps like a peanut.
But cheers, I never knew that, I'm actually kinda keen to practice that now.

Re: GPD --- Is there A Perfect Swoop In UFC 3?

Since it seems the mechanic is the same from UFC 2 and there seems to be alot of questions about it, I'll repost this video.

I labbed the heck out of the swoop, here is an in-depth tutorial.

Yep that's it. I remember how you took me down with 1min in the fight going straight for a sub in an unfinished unbalanced mode.
Give me a break fool

When I fought you it was *AFTER* the submission tweak.

Second, 'pay to win' ---- LOL ---- not even possible to pay to win in the Beta --- I never have (and never will) spend a cent on Ultimate Team, but if you hated Ultimate Team Mechanics in the Beta, wait til the real launch when you REALLY face 'super OP ground specialists' ---- people who really do drop $$$ on the game (or play 1000s of matches) ---

Hey, I'm the first to admit that ground game needs some work. But, I was easily able to dominate you on the ground game, and it wasn't just about my stats. I had others stop my ground game in the Beta. Not you, by a longshot

Finally --- I had already fought 50+ matches with a stand-up guy, and wanted to test out clinch and ground game, so I played with a 3-star submission specialist.

I took you down and submitted you in a minute. And you cried.

Then you cry on the board like 3 weeks later lol

I shouldn't even respond to ya but I did
