I think the best chance it has of coming back is if a promoter like Top Rank, Golden Boy or Mayweather Promotions decide they want to start including licensing agreements for video games in their contracts.

Imagine if Top Rank and ESPN decided to team up and create a video game. But even then the problem is, while Top Rank has tons of great fighters, is the star power enough to really sell a game?
