To make this easier to understand, lets use two fighters from the beta, Conor and Iaquinta.

Now Conor switches stances so he has a 95 and a striking OVR of 96.
Iaquinta has a 85 SS rating and 90 striking OVR. Al doesnt switch stances alot.

Lets say we did what you suggest and really drop his numbers. Lets drop Al to a 45. That would drop his striking OVR to 84. Now that presents 2 problems:

1) As I stated before it would make him useless from a power perspective if he switches stances. From a sim/realism perspective, that may be ok but it would make switching stances pretty much a waste of time for him. This would be the case for most fighters in the game because most fighters dont switch stances alot.

2) His OVR in striking is now 12 points lower than Conor which doesnt realistically represent the difference between his striking and Conor's. It also is likely that the UFC wouldnt even approve those numbers.

I'm ok with it for the reasons I just listed. Its more complicated than just "changing the range".

As for the hard combo part of it, thats not my call.

Is Conor's switch stat really 95? If 75 was the lowest I might give him 85 switch. Then I'd give Iaquinta 84.

But Conor switches much more than Al and is more effective from those the opposite side?

1) that doesnt have to be the case tho. If they rescaled it 45 might not be quite as weak. There should be a drop off in power but more noticeable in speed/lack of hard combos. Btw I def believe most fighters should be pretty useless when it comes to switching stances.

2) Simply have the switch stance stat mean less towards a fighter’s overall.

Maybe. When I think of fighters that are good switch Conor's name isn't on my radar, and I think he's obviously a fantastic striker.

I think the roster minimum is 80.

Crap, after the recent changes to the stamina system I went from being on the fence to most likely picking up on day 1, now I'm nervous again.
