Actually this os all wishfil thinking as the whole ground game needs changed. Honeslty no poijt asking at this point as it couldnt possibly be installed into this gar.
No man we should bring it up
At the end of the day every idea about each aspect of this awesome sport should be brought up for the devs to read, either to use that very idea, or be inspierd by it and develop something they wouldnt have tought of before reading
Plus its fun trying to solve this mma to videogame puzzle

Theres far too many things been overlooked in this installment, this isnt fifa where there at such a realistic standard where not much needs to be change as it actually looks like football. This doesnt look enough like mma yet but we are getting there.

Re: Grapling: minor transitions

I mentioned scrambles in the old thread. I think they should activate in place of the current reveral system. To win you do a timing based button mash mini game. Subs should also be possible if your fighter has the moveset.

I really like this idea OP. And LT/Left stick for blocking minor transition , RT/right stick for major transitions.

Awesome to see that the one who inspierd my idea like it! Much appreciated man
Out of curiousity:
Why L2 +LS for minor block and not R2+LS?

and also, why button mash for scramble? isnt it better to add a real time system, for more options and not get the feel that the feature is cheap, when two fighters with medium to big stat difference engage in it?

LS+LT would make it more diffucult to block fakes imo. But not opposed to both being RT denial.

I dont really know how you could make a real life transition based scramble. The timed button mash is the only thing I could think of. It’d punish oeople who just hit the buttons as hard as possible and still allow skill to play a factor.

And with the big stat difference your goal would be to avoid scrambles if you’re at a big disadvantage. Same way you avoid much better strikers on the feet or you avoid submission specialist on the ground

Re: Grapling: minor transitions

aldo-takedown-defense.gif

See how aldo tries to get up using his left hand. Maybe diagonal bottom left on ls could be for trying to get up that way, and to block the attacker would do the oppisite so diagonal top right, window would be greater for maybe if you have a greater takedown stat or maybe a new scramble stat. So after that scramble was blocked o the grapple hud it would do the red circle to show it has been denied. You could then scramble again to the other side. if you get denied however a massive stamina drain should happen, the amount is dependant on your takedown defense or scramble stat. An idea to stop constant scrambles would be you can't scramble with under 40% overall stamina and short term stamina.

Re: Grapling: minor transitions

Scrambling can probably be attributed to the basic TDD rating. I used to think it wasn't possible to get something like that into a game, but lately I've been thinking about how reverses work and countering those reversals (which I really hate...insta-reversals) and how that whole interaction should actually be for scrambles. It definitely needs to be able to kick in immediately on unsuccessful diving punches in some way. Maybe once the punch is blocked, you immediately have a short window to getup and if it's blocked you have other short window to getup using left or right or you can use up to sweep but have it in a scrambling animation.
