I'm not gonna lie,I'm pretty disappointed in this, not really happy the way they handled it,just looks extremely awkward the way they pan right to the winning fighter celebrating when the fighter who got starched has barely even hit the mat. I'm disappointed but not enough to deter me from enjoying this game,it's just a puzzling step backwards after making a lot of forward progress in other areas. Oh well,it is what it is

There must be some confusion, because it is being left the same as in the beta.

There were no post KO strikes in the beta either (in the way being discussed here).

That said, this is something I think we can influence via constructive criticism. I think EA’s decision was a mistake and takes away from the overall quality of the game.

They should just leave post KO strikes as they were in the beta and, moving forward, incorporate ref stoppages to resolve the entire issue.

Yeah, I'm not all for it being removed, I don't think anyone is. I'm sure people just need to voice their opinion and as long as it's not a UFC issue, they can bring it back. But I cannot see how it's a complete dealbreaker.

One of the main reasons I'm not too upset about it is because it doesn't actually involve ref interaction anyway. If refs stepped in, then I'd be a little more concerned. But it felt and looked less immersive to me without that aspect. It seems possible to me, all the FTF animations are from specific positions programmed into the game so the ref interactions would need to be added in accordingly. Of course it would take time to do, but it'd be nice to see him side in to protect the fighter in some positions or pull the winner off in other positions.

It wouldn't be a dealbreaker to me if there were more than 1 (!!!!!!) FTF positions for strong knockdowns. I played the beta maybe 10 hours and never got a different FTF position than that awkward stable lateral position with super unspectacular punches.

I sometimes even do walk off if the KO was super clean and clear but the sudden and instant end to fights looks shytty. It's like porn where the movie ends as the actor is about to nut lel

There is more than one, that's just the most common one. There's knee-on belly and a kinda back ride/back mount one, as far as I can tell all the one's from 2 are still in 3, it's just harder to get to some of them.

In fact at that point, people would probably start pushing for non-UFC MMA games to come out that have no such restrictions. Which would suck because we all wanna use UFC fighters, but at the same time want the team to be able to craft a truly authentic experience without trying to "save image" for the UFC.
The UFC has complete say so over every element of the game. Its been the case since UFC 1. Its the same reason we dont see technical fouls in NBA 2k or late hits or concussions in Madden. Sports leagues want to control how their sport is portrayed in their games.

Re: GPD's official response to Finish the Fight discussion

I think the issue was the speed of the strikes and the amount they landed. With that said, if GPD says they are working on a solution, I'm ok with it. Hopefully we wont have to wait that long for a fix.
