Yeah that's me in the video using Masvidal and tbh i wasnt moving my head because the guy was tired so i knew his punches wouldn't do much damage and 2, im honestly not too used to moving my head in close range much yet.

But i agree that the 4 direction limitation for head movement does kinda suck...and i expect them to expand on this in the future. FNC had full 360 head movement. If they could add this to UFC then it would make head movement more effective in close range.

However, its still a great way to take different punch angles and setup counter shots as of now

I don't agree. FNC is still GOAT boxing game. but I agree that EA UFC3 has the best striking system in the history of mma game.

As far as boxing mechanics go, i think UFC 3 is up there with FNC. Go on youtube and watch some FNC videos then watch UFC 3 striking.

UFC 3 doesn't have every little detail that FNC may have because boxing isn't its only focus. But for an MMA game to come this close....is something special.

A couple things keep it from being there imo

1) Head movement being rock paper scissors and having limited angles. You have to fully commit each direction and chaining slips is bad compared to boxing

2) I want the ability to cancel small dashes into striks again to help create more striking angles

Why Head movement are rock paper scissor?

So the way it is currently set up

Back lean>Uppercut>Ducks>Hooks>same side lean> Straights>back leans

Or something similar to that effect. In real life a lean doesnt alway beat a straight punch and you dont always duck into uppercut because both head movement and strikes come at all angles

I agree that the limited head movement angles hold the standup back from realizing its full potential. Even in UFC 2 we had full 360 head movement control.

I'm not sure why they chose to take this out and replace it with only 4 directions. Maybe its a balance thing. But it is hard to use head movement for defense when tight in the pocket. That is the one thing about the standup that I would like to see changed.
