Also pay attention to the GA meter on kicks and punches in practice mode. Missed kicks by your opponent give you way more GA than anything else and its easier to land TDs during this moment.

I feel like a lot of people are complaining but havent fully put in the time to learn the nuances of the game yet.

Will give it a try. However, this thread is more about how the “old” grappling system doesn’t hold up next to the “new” striking mechanics.

For instance, it’s frustrating going from a fluid/awesome striking exchange to a clunky/nerfed clinch or trying to shoot for a takedown and getting slowly put in sprawl (because of the bad animation). Relics of the old game look particularly bad next to the new striking mechanics. It’s like playing two separate games.

Problem is also that we dont have hard combos got grappling

Very difficult to set up TDs with strikes

Like a blow, a combo is also necessary for a takedown. Even if it fails a lot, there are a lot of players who continue to take down persistently. In the case of gauge wrestling, scenes where it goes to take down takedown by repeating single and double are like natural. Also, at the time of UFC released in Dreamcast, there was a movement to take down even if the take down failed.

Can you post a clip showing this? Because I couldn’t do it since it’s all on the same stick.

We need the ability to fake takedowns, feint level changes etc
