This is a huge concern for me and the reason I can't pick up the game right now.

I'd love for someone with the full release to test this again so we know for sure.

I posted the exact same videos in an older thread and was gonna post this again but you read my mind (;

But yeah this honestly is probably the single most stupidly unrealistic part of the whole game period. I know we are not going to get a grappling overhaul in this iteration but one great way to give wrestlers a bigger purpose is to incorporate stamina drain for body shots landed to a grounded opponent.

GnP body strikes do not have to be overpowered in terms of draining stamina but when you're being punched 50+ times in the body and not one bit of stamina is draining; yet the transitions/denials are actually doing drain to the long term stamina, then i think its safe to say that there is something completely wrong with this aspect of the game in terms of the design.

I feel that this is probably an oversight and something that can and should be easily patched in, as it wont require anything but adding long term stamina drain when you are hit with GnP body strikes. Balance is obviously important here but everything can be tweaked and people on this board are here to help make it a fair system. The addition to this mechanic would give a far greater purpose to the ways you can wear down your opponents stamina with wrestlers/GnP specialists.

Personally i really just feel this would add a much more fair contrast to the standup and ground game in terms of the tools available for both styles and would be greatly received by the community as its essentially adding more depth into the overall game.

Please note I'm going on the assumption that this was not fixed for the final release, but if it has been fixed then apologies.

Thanks & Regards

Re: FTF You Can't Finish to the Body on the Ground

there are four silly point in there

1. Diaz throwing 2 GnP strikes on Barboza's face after getting KD but Barboza is easy recover(no block, no sway, no arm-trap) and into the half guard position. That totally looks weird.

2. can't finish to the body shot even if it landed over 25 punches.

3. where is the referee? ref is never interaction in this game.

4. the body shot on the ground is not satisfying for drain opponents long term stamina compared with the stand up. totally unbalanced now.

Yeh I noticed this and posted these early on in the beta as it is a huge concern for me. With the new stamina system I planned to make people miss, go to the body, and ground and pound, as this has always been my favorite way to deal with overaggressive opponents since Undisputed, but it looks like that is impossible, hence why it is such a big concern.

With the updates to the striking leaving the ground game being pretty much the same, and submissions potentially being nerfed, this makes the ground game feel like it doesn't even matter and really unbalances the game towards standup at the the detriment to ground fighters.

If it weren't for this I would've per-ordered the game and would be playing right now.

No stamina drain and 100 plus shots to the body doing nothing really breaks it for me.

Can any dev do something about this?
