I thought it only happens if you’re caught with super low short term stam

I think it’s either dependent on stamina or if you have a significant grapple advantage AND the fighter has that special takedown in their inventory.

It’s the same mechanic as the single leg/double leg to side control animation, but for power takedowns

The last time it happened I was Diaz. I had stamina. It may not have been my quickest denial ever but it was quick enough. I block all his shots in top mount before waiting to transition but then my character waves his arms around like gumby until I get finished lol

Just turn belly down

Against Cormier/Khabib it’s harder to transition because their top control ratings are crazy

Right. Which is still an issue. As the top ground control guys are the only guys people use in ranked. And when everyone is so closely matched up it messes things up. There's too much of a gap between fighters' ground stats.

At which point should I be turning my back?

I don't think that's the issue per say. I honestly think the problem there is that people know 95 top game isn't equivalent to 95 bottom game.

For whatever reason top game is scaled totally different. Case in point when someone is in Nogueira's guard I have a 4 point advantage on the best top game in the weight class yet am still constantly denied and can't even fake.

I’d usually either block first then wait for the next strike so you’d have extra GA

Denial windows across the board should be lowered
