Knockdowns need to result in a bigger stamina loss

There is no earthly reason as to why someone can be knocked down multiple times in a round, sometimes multiple times in a 15 second span, and come out fresher than the other guy.

Knockdowns, especially Active Knockdowns, punish the attacker. They’d be better off getting a severe rock so the fight could be finished with one of those “block-breaker” combos.

It’s really annoying when you knock someone down and they do nothing but turtle and back pedal in response forcing you to have to chase them around till you’re finally able to finish the fight. Usually wasting all of your stamina in the progress.

It’s possible to sit back once you’ve hurt them and let them come to you but some players won’t even pursue you.

EDIT: Title should say “bigger stamina loss”, I know you lose a bit already.

This x1000

Rocks should take a small chunk and knockdowns should take a bigger one.

Agreed, maybe a longer health event as well for consecutive rocks.

I agree with this. However, it would be problematic if they went too far with it. The chin depletion mechanic already puts you at a big disadvantage.

I think it needs to take off more stamina but not too much. It's easy to knock someone down in ranked and the fights would probably be won in the first round. A couple knockdowns and the other guy would be out of the fight.

However, what shouldn't end up happening is the guy getting knocked down being way fresher than the guy dealing damage. The correct balance needs to be found.

If you get knocked down a couple times in the round then you should be finished most of the time.

I think Frankie Edgar is the only person to ever survive 3 knockdowns in one round.

It would force people to be more conservative

2 knockdowns are easy to get though. No matter how conservative you are. Once knockdowns are tweaked... Then we're looking at a different situation.
