You are wrong
Using Macros is lame - I agree.
Using mod controllers w additional paddles which are allowing to bind simultaneous buttons - is NOT lame.
Because
Flightsticks w tracker
Driving wheels
Fight arcade sticks
- they all are custom controllers
And BEST PRO players use them on hardcore play level. This is a STANDART.

There was a time that people used turbo controllers when button spamming in games were important. Those kind of mods are lame.

That said, if people want to use elite controllers with extra inputs to map tedious simultaneous inputs to, I dont see an issue.

Agree. Example: UFC UD1-2 used imo one of the most dumb Sumbission and winning in Grappling system when you was forced to rotate RS as quickly as possible to win.
Some cheaters used Controllers with turbo function on Sticks - which gave then win.
Macros and Turbo and etc - is a CHEAT so and lame 100%.

Pro controllers with doubled buttons (additional paddles) or allowing to remap or bind together buttons (for ex A+B) are NOT lame.

It gives you a mechanical advantage that reduces the skill required to control the game. It’s literally pay-to-win.

All the examples you gave are instances where developers design their game around using those types of controllers.

This game was clearly designed to be played with a normal controller and that’s what most people are using.

And if you say mapping simultaneous button presses to 1 button is ok, but using macros or “rapid fire” is not, then you’re being hypocritical.

All cybersport leagues and tournaments (Evo, ESL, MLG, etc) are allowing to use arcade sticks, even Hitboxes, driving wheels, pro controllers w/o macros.

They all about pure cybersport w/o pay-to-win not legitimate advantage.

So it is better for you to discuss with them that they all are wrong =)

Re: PRO GAMEPADS w/additional paddles and Macros - for advantage in EA UFC 3

in a game like this it allows for correct pressing of some of these moves that don't always come out right. mainly uppercuts and kicks that require two face buttons.

this would alleviate people's accusations that the game isn't registering the uppercuts correctly as well which i would like to see.

I feel like sometimes its not working correctly. sometimes i go to throw the lead spinning leg kick and get a leg kick instead. since i hold both triggers first before hitting a kick input, its hard to imagine i'm inputting incorrectly. one day i was trying to throw the lead push kick and just kept getting standard body kick over and over. i went so far as to just hold both L2/R1 and just spam the kick button, wouldn't respond, only standard body kick. maybe perfect inputs from these controllers would alleviate this?

You’re conflating several different things my man.

Street fighter is an arcade fighter, it was literally created for an arcade stick.

Flight sticks have been around since Flight Simulator.

Same with driving wheels.

So you’re comparing apples to oranges.

Also, how is mapping two buttons to one different from a macro in any real sense?

Because you CAN do it even on standard controller and many games allows to bind complex buttons like this.
Macros you CAN NOT do on standard controller - turbo function, fast performing many stages Combo by one click, etc.
