Single collar: Opponent recovers head health despite taking repeated head strikes

https://youtu.be/-jI0ewfxTRE

Rocked opponent recovering head health while being repeatedly hit in the head? Does that make sense?

I’m Cirkunov with the level 2 clinch striking boost perk. I rock OSP and get him in single collar clinch against the cage. After throwing hooks and elbows as fast as the game allows, not only does his head health recover, but the ref actually breaks us from the clinch!!!

I understand that some people don’t want the single collar clinch to be OP, but can somebody please explain the logic here? After rocking my opponent, I throw 10+ shots and am unable to inflict any positive head damage...and apparently warrant a break from the ref. The only thing taking damage is my stamina bar.

It seems rational that 10+ unblocked/unanswered head strikes would cause a health event. Atm, 100+ unblocked head strikes from single collar and opponent is still standing . (Don’t believe me, try in practice mode)

Can we add a small buff to strikes in single collar? The current damage system makes no sense

Re: Video evidence of over-nerfed pillow punches in single-collar clinch

I agree, single collar is already neutral so both can block.

We should have clinch breaks for uppercuts, hooks, and elbows in single collar.

At least start by adding damage to these strikes. There’s no reason shots from side control should be significantly more effective than from single collar. Especially since players can block from single collar.

I dk about the breaks after throwing strikes from single collar because it would allow players an exploit to easily escape getting grabbed.

Maybe only have breaks after health events from single collar like with the MT clinch

Not at all since both fighters have an equal opportunity.

It's rather odd, you can't even block in side control but those strikes deplete your chin meter like crazy and they can even finish you.

With this it wouldn't even be bad if MT punches broke the clinch either, even tho the dominant fighter can't block.

In general people holding a plum the cannot block in a classic way, but you see fighters like Silva rolling with the punches. So you could do this with the current MT clinch without adding a block animation.

So we can finally have a clinch that is fair for both the dominant and submissive fighter.

Lol single collar isn't a vulnerable position
If that's the case osp should be able to ko you
It's neutral
the single collar is fine especially sine there's one hit rocks in Thai
I've literally only heard of Mir who always gets kod to get lurked in single collar but it was more of the UFC 3 whip position.

But fighters should be able to recover head health while also getting repeatedly hit in the head in single collar?
