Alright - I give up. How the hell do I counter combo spammers??

People don't seem to talk about this a lot, but it's becoming really annoying.

I'm talking about dudes who run up and stick in your face constantly throwing 4-punch combos nonstop. It seems I'm completely unable to defend against them. Blocking and countering doesn't work, my counters get interrupted by hooks every time.
Head movement doesn't work up close, I just get murdered.

And somehow, without throwing many strikes at all, I'm constantly finding myself at lower stamina than my opponent without taking any body shots at all.

Help me out guys, this is super irritating.

If they use block at any time, popping a jab slows their forward movement so you can create space. Mix that in with check hooks and lead upercuts. Also you should liberally use the back dash after they throw their first punch so you can catch them in a vulnerability spike

I just can’t relate to this at all. I would assume the vast majority of people can’t either based on this board and others. You can’t throw combos in this game without getting slipped and rocked. I would have to see your gameplay to tell you what you’re doing wrong, but you are doing something wrong if you can’t slip the strikes.

I've been trying these things, they don't work for me. I just end up backed against the cage and getting wailed on.

The jab doesnt help, as soon as I throw it I'm eating hooks, and paradoxically it doesn't put me farther from my opponent, it actually snaps me closer to them.

you need to use head movement also you can just high block nothing breaks the high block in this game

I think we'd rather see a video of you slipping, doging and countering all these stay in your face brawlers. Show us how you do this with an average fighter.

The burden of proof is on you friend. I’m in the top 40 5x over. I think I can do with the benefit of the doubt. And this post isn’t about using “average fighters”.
