I take that as a huge compliment

Nice to know he’s been advocating for that.

You cannot step into a jab and then magically transfer your weight and take another huge step for a 2.

Same applies to all strikes. If you hop in with a lead hook (planting with your lead foot) you shouldnt be able to take another hop to keep swinging with power. In real life you need your feet under you. If you want to cover distance and maintain power you’d take much smaller steps with each strike. That had a lot to do with why phonebooth meta exists.

And the way people commit to the hop in game you should be at an insane grapple disadvantage. That’s easy pickings for any grappler if you’re jumping into strikes
Oh I thought you were saying you can't do it in the game.

Like a heat seeking missile. Everytime I get caught with one from the other side of the inner octagon while backing up....

Actually it is very possible to throw a "lunging" straight after a lunging or planted jab. Maybe not at the same distance as we see in the game, but it's definitely possible. You just drive off of your back foot.

I do agree that there should be some serious grappling disadvantage to doing this as well as vulnerability.

You cant really drive off of your back foot if your weight is shifted onto your lead foot for a jab.

I’m all for any evidence that contradicts my post but I’ve never seen it.

You're correct. There will be no evidence to contradict the point you're making. It just doesn't exist.
