Re: Blocking Strikes in MMA

In general, fighters are way more evasive irl and can avoid more strikes. For me, this game has made me begin to think my controllers are broken. I can see a strike coming from a mile away but my block just doesn't even respond in time. For true realism I'd want stamina taxed better, more power on certain strikes and blocking to be more responsive as well as better footwork to evade strikes. It should be hard to land a flush strike most times but also having more power with strikes when they do land.

I remember the cut healing mechanic with that rubbing controller motion.

But I dont really get your question still..Are you suggesting that to be incorporated into the game now? If so yeah, I would be in favor I liked that mechanic.

Also maybe corner advice should mean more, like they give you goals as objectives. Doing those objectives could give bonuses.

I didn't know they were going to add this.

They added stamina pools between rounds, so you lose stamina depending on your output relative to your landed rate.

Re: Blocking Strikes in MMA

Well i was kinda wrong Gaethje definitely blocks punches by just covering up and standing there.Reis blocked the same to but it wasn't very effective but that was it all the other fighters would just step back and deflect/parry strikes.

The biggest thing i noticed was not even Gaethje was chest to chest with dustin he stood right in stationary punch range?if he got any closer they would have clinched this doesn't not happen in the game.So i see 3 three options to fix this.

1. Automatic clinch when u get to close

2.Change footwork to a walking animation when we reach a certain range

3.Create a invisible wall that stops us from going chest to chest

The clinch would need serious work if option 1 was applied

I was thinking about something similar. All the other EA SPORTS games have CO-OP as an important aspect, but not this one. what about online gyms with Corner mini game? I'd definetly be a corner man for one of you guys in a ranked fight and fix some cuts and ice packs and stuff. Seem like there's some gold in them mines.
