I think it's about being as realistic as can reasonably be achieved with a video game. To that end, I believe UD3 had the best grappling system still. Tear this one down and go back to the way UD3 did it please.

Some of them are really realistic. The Show/NBA 2k are examples. Others can be tweaked and made more realistic like PES for example.

I find all of those games very fun.

Its not as simple as a patch. You are asking EA to tear down its grappling system and replace it with another. Thats not something they would ever do with a patch.
It would be technically possible, but likely not financially feasible.

Also, they did kind of redo the entire striking system (or, rather, redo the mocap and switch back to UFC 1 engine), I feel like the grappling would actually be much more simple in a lot of ways.

I think what wI need is a decent balance of both. Ud3 was great and had flaws but if you mixed both games you’d have the best mma game to ever be made in the history of combat gaming
