To everyone who voted #2, what does that really mean to you?

real life MMA is balanced by definition. So why do you want it to not be a full sim for the sake of balance?

I think you're missing the point of my question. maybe I should try rephrasing it

Seeing that real life is the guideline for what is balanced in MMA, how could you possibly alter it to be less realistic and therefore more balanced?

I didn't vote for #2, but I can chime in. There are realistic things that would be sim that actually are not competitively balanced at all when it comes to a video game. Like randomly blowing your knee out, the ref making an incorrect call, having a doctor stop the fight because of a cut. These are obvious things, but this concept or idea can make it's way into less obvious aspects. Tons of things that could be implemented into the game that would make it more realistic, but would be out of the players control. Things can get so far SIM that you could just hit start and watch the game play itself. Like said above, it is a video game. That all being said. Don't listen to me. I would be happy with a perfectly balanced game with 2 stick figures over a beautiful unbalanced SIM.

The way i put too, is basically to recreate mma in a game format. Minor changes wouls ne accelerated clocks, no random injuries, no wrong calls in terms of refs and judges but as you can see that still happens. Balancing stats like making glass chinned fighters actually useable and same with people who cant defend subs.

i couldnt care as long as it represents mma well, is fun and doesn't have to op fighters/moves etc. The problem is one persons slight change is another persons realism breaking change.
