It’s the extra speed for input... those guys press the button really fast like a street fighter/tekken game, u can go to practice mode and do a 3 piece combo on your normal and in a despearate speed(u gonna finish pressing the button b4 the animation end)

I know jabs and straights have different animations depending on their level, so maybe that makes a small difference in combo speed?
