Which is to wait about a second or half a second after they strike to transition. A lot of people tend to block immediately after they strike because thats when people usually transition, so if you wait a small period you can usually transition after they lock themselves out. This is especially useful in back side mount.
Thanks for this tip! I'm gonna try it out when I get stuck again

Because fakes obviously weren't an intended part of the game. They are essentially an exploit in the game mechanics.

yea def. intended, and if anything, they are underpowered (or in other words....failing at a pre-deny, is overpowered/not punished enough!)

Re: Fighting against crucifix masters

Instead of denying eat the first two elbows. They can’t deny your escape easily after striking especially power strikes. Your being punished for letting them get you into crucifix but your not taking the L. Immediately getup to your feet and work the striking. Take weird paths to get to the feet. Back clinch over under backsitting side control dom there’s a plethora of options you can’t do the same thing twice to a great player on the feet or the ground. Throw in variations of what your trying to do. This is where the chess match factor comes into play

This is 100% false.

I think they were originally unintended in EA UFC 2 but clearly intended in EA UFC 3 since they kept the mechanic which was already an established part of the meta. If it was an exploit it would have been patched long ago.

Re: Fighting against crucifix masters

If the fakes are an intentional game mechanic, it sure would be nice to have a tutorial in the game that teaches players how to use them...
