^This.

A movement has to start somewhere!

Yeah i completely agree, trends in the sport change over time and change between each weight class.

If you look at it from a simplistic standpoint what beats what could change over time when new techniques are used.
An example of a rock paper scissors way of looking at mma rn. Lets say for example a reckless agressive fighter fights a brilliant counter striker, rn the counter would win most of the time. But as the sport ivolves the a reckless aggressive fighter will get better, and they will start to use new techniques, these new skills and techniques could completely change the dynamic between the two fighters and it to end up favouring the agressor.

Adding to a previous point...

For Parries (and much else) to truly feel authentic, and to avoid potential for an overwhelming mini-game, it would take large gains made on the initial move toward dynamic gameplay introduced this year, as there is still too much of a binary feel (X beats Y).

Situational variables (distance, footwork, angles, timing etc.) would constantly inform an algorithm that would be something of an engine that essentially determines:

Outcome of any particular technique = (Probability of success) x (magnitude)

* It seems like a lot of the debate we have forgets one of the two variables. From there every thing becomes black and white, which isn't very fun
You bring up a great point. Context means everything. Yes that needs to be incorporated in. With that in mind, maybe this isnt such a great idea because as good as the devs are they are not good at incorporating that level of nuance. But then again. They could put it in...then patch it and then a year later we could have an almost decent set of mechanics. In truth, there are definitely better things to work on. The grappling and takedown specifically coudl use some help.

If they are getting better then they wouldnt be reckless. By definition better means being more calculated.

Plus I dont think we are talking about a style of fighting beating another. We are digging much further down. What move in what position at what range at what point in the move beats another move in what postion etc.

Not necessarily more calculated, lets say he gets more accurate with certain punches but still throws them at a ridiculous volume, overall hes better but still reckless in his output.

Am trying to show a different approach into some peoples understanding of the sport and sports in general. Starting with broad scenerios and working down.

I completely agree with the last part about each scenario, thats why i pointed out the wrong vulnerability for the rear upper, the correct counter for it irl was not effective because if this.
