What is so hard about making a good stamina system?

IMG_0334.jpg

This guy just threw 500 punches with a middleweight in 4 rounds. He only had 15 total in round 5 after I dominated on the ground. Throughout the fight our stamina’s were almost identical! How is that right. As you can see yes I lost but I was going to post no matter what. This game rewards people who just run and spam strikes at you constantly. He landed 8 more punches despite throwing 200 more strikes. I landed 22 more sig strikes despite throwing 2 less total sig strikes.

The point is throughout the fight my great defense (he only landed around 25-30% strikes) and efficient striking( landed almost 50%) did not grant me a stamina advantage to give him hell in the later rounds something UFC 2 I felt did right.

Am I reading this wrong? He knocked you down twice or did you knock him down?

If knocked you down, there is a significant perm stamina drain that comes from being knocked down. That could be one of the reasons why stamina was equal.

Not seeing the health either he might have landed a lot more body shots.

The problem is that the only real way to drain stamina, at the moment, is to attack the body and if you do that you can expect your opponent to throw a lot of uppercuts and catch your body kicks. The incentive is definitely to be a constant pressure fighter who throws a very high volume of strikes.

It's also very easy to pre-deny clinch entries and stuff takedowns in the open cage while there's a big stamina penalty for repeated denials. It's frustrating for me as a Jiu-Jitsu guy knowing that I'm the only player ranked in the top 100 on Xbox whose favorite fighter is Brian Ortega; other Jiu-Jitsu guys I pick like Werdum, Souza, and Assuncao aren't anyone's favorite either. People joke and say that it's a K-1 kickboxing game now which isn't far from the truth at all.

To be fair he only threw 160 sig strikes

When people are complaining about strike counts they’re comparing in game total strikes to real life sig strikes

The problem here is your good stamina system only makes spammers and a hand full of elite competitive players happy. If that is your definition of a good stamina system ... good night.

How many individuals complain about stamina on these forums?

Let's be generous and say 100.

How many people bought the game and haven't bothered complaining about it?

A lot.

How would you interpret that data?
