Can pivot lunges controls be explained in detail.

So many players are not sure what controls are used and exactly how pivot lunges are done,it has been explained in patch discussion but it is confusing. What buttons are used and is there a specific attack by the opponent that triggers it, and can all fighters end up on the opposite side of the opponent like the TJ Dillashaw video. That said i am getting a lot more side to side movement than before and the gameplay is so fast now, great job EA.

Re: Can pivot lunges controls be explained in detail.

A short 5 min video by Altair or Martial would do wonder for this.

Afaik,

Southpaw vs Orthodox (opposite stance)

1) Outside Pivot

Slip outside their jab and input a lunge in the same direction as fast as you can to trigger an outside pivot.

By outside their jab, you have to slip away from their rear hand, so your head ends up on the other side and not in the middle of their chest area.

2) Inside Pivot

For the cross and overhand, slip inside. So your head goes towards their rear hand and passes through the middle area.

This will trigger hopefully the inside pivot.

Then take those principles and do the opposite for Orthodox vs Orthodox, as the punches come the other way.

I think you can pivot away from uppercuts too.

The only one I dont know about is ducking and hooks.

So for both of these you are lunging the same way? To the left side of an orthodox Jab (outside) and to the left side of an orthodox straight (inside?)

What about the minor lunges? How do you do those?

Re: Can pivot lunges controls be explained in detail.

Its still early in the patch but it seems like they snap back a bit to fast after an evasive lunge or pivot (which is very hard to pull off, timing and distance wise) I also feel when i do a succsessful pivot or lunge with a counter its not enough to stop the heavy boxing non stop pressure game which is still the superior tactic. I love where the game is headed but you need so much timing and skill to counter. pressure boxing just stifles everything. might need some more time but thats my impression so far. Losing left and right while trying to pull this stuff out lol.
Again love where the game is headed!
