We got Dynamic grappling (DG) mechanics in EA UFC 2 for on Ground game, BUT many its elements are not exists in Stand up and Clinch game:
Now, i can in Stand Up constantly HOLD Grapple Block (R2+RS Up or Down) all the time even with lunging or walking or during strikes recovery - and NEVER will be failed to Clinch or TD attempt.
This is named CONSTANT Pre denial. It does NOT require ANY skill or mind game! Even NO Stamina costs for this.
On the Ground any pre deny will be a Mistimed denial and will open a timed window for undeniable opponent's transition (as a penalty).

Mistimed Denial is for ex TD denial (R2+RS down) before opponent's TD attempt and then REPEATING the same denial again (aka SPAMMING).
On the Ground this is as Pre denial so the opponent will get a time for follow up undeniable transition.
But
In Stand up i can SPAM TD denials over and over w/o penalty.
Why? Why you dont want to make DG for stand up too
?
So, NO, these 2 are NOT "already exists". And this is very bad for the game!

Then, about the Lunge issue - OK, i will make more detailed topic with videos.It will take some time but i am ready for game evolving...
But now i have 2 questions for you:

2) Was intended that Blocking Minor Lunges must NOT to have a delay for follow up strike?
If YES - then this is very wrong imho and i hope you will explain your gameplay logic about this...
