Getups while next to the cage

Other than the full guard transition to over/under, the getups (from bottom) while against the cage look very odd. Player animations often slide unnaturally to prevent clipping through the cage.

Solution is to create more standup animations incorporating the cage. This includes from full guard, half guard, and side control.

The cage is an important tool for fighters to use in attempts to stand up while on the bottom, and there should be animations to represent that.

Should be a seated cage position between being on the ground and getting up into over under would give depth and maybe make the animations to over under look better

Agreed. Should be able to transition to seated pos when near the cage. Easiest from full guard, progressively more difficult from half guard and side control.

Not sure how realistic that transition is though. Can any MMA grapplers weigh in?

The solution is ground movement and cage seated

You can move towards the cage from full guard bottom but it's risky tho ...just fake get up left and right ...till you get to the cage .

I haven’t been tracking what game devs have been saying, but are there any known plans to incorporate ground movement/cage seated?

Gotchya, thanks.

I’ll stay optimistic given the recent overhaul to to takedowns. That said, would love to see the above-mentioned changes incorporated into the ground game, as well as more mobility in the clinch. Would really balance out the Striking/grappling.
