Well I'll say this, the midfield is harder to get through, defenders are better and more aggressive but there's still a lack of fouls. I played 2 games, first game saw 0 fouls but the second saw 4 two from each team. The fouls came from the middle of the field , but as I got to the box defenders seemed to make those inch perfect tackles . So I have no clue how the game will look after more games. I'm not upset by it by any means I just hoped for more

Haven't played since the patch, but I'm generally able to draw a few fouls a game from the CPU just from using some misdirection and a skill move or two.  The problem has always been that I never have fouls called on me because the slide tackle is so useless and there aren't usually fouls called for aggressively jockeying and bumping a player.  FIFA gets this part right, I usually have at least one "oops" foul a game.

Happy to hear that the defenders are playing a bit more aggressively and not literally running away from from the ball.

The official backgrounds for pre/post match press interviews or press conferences. I had to google it too, not much of anything... would have rather had so many other features/detail adds.

Was the foul fix supposed to be included with the data pack?

My understanding was that it was to fix the lack of fouls.

Am I the only one, who is not seeing the 2 new stadiums in edit mode ?

Chile's stadium is still generic for me

I had been pondering a purchase of 2018, but if the fouls are still an issue after this perhaps I'll keep enjoying 2017. Was really hopeful of this update.

It's only been a few hours since the patch. Let's at least give it a day or two of playing before we start screaming about there not being fouls.

And if you want to play PES, the PES Lite version is out. It's free and you can play myClub games.

After playing a few games, there is no doubt there are more fouls. Like FIFA, there do seem to be referees whom are more strict than others, but I definitely noticed a lot of those little trips/hacks the CPU does to you are now being called. Still, IMO there's not enough, but it's much better.

In one game the CPU had 2 yellows and I had two FK's in front of goal. This was all against the CPU so I might try some online tonight and see if it's any different there.

Another thing I noticed is it seems the defensive lines are *maybe* better at catching the other team offsides. I say maybe, because I think they were already doing it, but it looked very very close and IMO a lot of them were not offsides. Now, they are clearly offside and if you watch the replay you can see the defenders taking a step forward to put the runner offsides.

I played 3 full games in master league after the update yesterday. I play on top player difficulty.

Everything you said are spot-on, i agree.

The refs. call the fouls a little more, i had a few free-kicks all over the field every single game. Also CPU now slides more than they used to so you can catch them off balance and make them commit a foul.

The defensive line is i guess better too because i stayed disciplined in all 3 games and they were not able to break my defense down. Although i conceeded 2 goals in 3 games, it was a bit my fault.

I also noticed that the ball protection is a bit better, CPU can't clip you and make you off balance when you run side to side with the ball.

I think the game is 15 % better with the update. It was much needed. I still don't like the unrealistic saves by the goalkeepers, reflex saves from very close range. I mean, from very close range, you are mostly beat in real football, the saves are often however in the game. It doesn't bother me a lot but if they can correct it it'll be fine.

There were a few things I find wrong with the game besides the foul issue, and this is one of them. GK's are *much* too good...I've read a couple places where people are saying they have been turned down a bit, but I haven't really experienced this yet.

IMO, the #1 issue is how players turn into superhuman blocking defenders around the 18yd box. Shots, passes and crosses are blocked at a phenomenal rate...it's so unrealistic. Even trying to get off a long range shot from outside the box usually results in a defender blocking the shot.

Edit: oh...online. I played the myClub online challenge tonight. Fouls are increased there as well, but that's not nearly as noticeable. Most fouls called online are "no brainers" due to people sliding. But those little chippy fouls are sometimes being called.
