Re: Ok im late I know The Wire

Yeah, Season 2 is the tough one to get thru. I remember when I first started watching The Wire, I kept asking myself and others on here, "Damn, how many more episodes are left so I can start Season 3?".

Once you get to Season 3, it's smooth sailing from there on out, my man.

And now after reading this thread, I suddenly have the urge to go back and watch this series from beginning to end...again.

I've heard nothing but great things about this series, but the first couple of episodes are so boring, I never make it through.

I'm a huge HD snob so I think part of the problem is I can't find it on BR.
I did the same thing, started it 3x, got through 1-2 episodes each time, and stopped. Eventually forced myself to get through it and now its by far my favorite show of all time.

First couple episodes are just tough because they are just introducing all these different characters, giving you a quick glimpse of them without knowing what any of it means. I've gone through the whole series now 3 times, and on 2nd and 3rd viewing I really liked the first couple of episodes.

And for me, season 2 was pretty much the same way, just for the whole season. First time through I didn't like it. But next time through, once I had a better idea of how everything fit together and why I was supposed to care about what was happening I loved it.

Yea after my 3rd watch of the series, I started to like season 2. Its not as boring as I first thought it was in my first watch through.

It gets better once you'll able to put everything together.

I don't get all the venom for season 2. Yeah, Ziggy was a pain in the *** but Frank Sobatka was a tragic character for the ages.

I think season 2 bored me because it got away from the streets. It wasn't too bad overall but doesn't stack up to my interest in the other seasons. However, i finally convinced one of my friends to watch it and he felt like season 2 was one of the best and season 4 was a wash lol. Different strokes I guess.
