Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

I love I Play Forever and all of my guys features, that’s probably my second favorite Benny verse after Gods Don’t Bleed.

I hate Tricked and I’ll probably bury this album for my own sake. Another rapper starts talking anti-vax **** and I’m going full time jazz.

Yeah, Gibbs was spitting that ish too. I like these rappers too much to shelve them so for me it's eat the meat and spit out the bones. I ain't gonna act like it's any different than these married men rapping about bagging chicks and broke rappers talking about how they're getting money.

Man I was just thinking about Gibbs, I know he’s with the Nation. This kinda stuff breaks my brain. I didn’t care for Royce until Prhyme so I can take the Black Thought verse off of Wishin II and toss him in the recycle bin. To put that skit in front of Black Savage AND to ruin Conway’s verse on FUBU is just unforgivable. Gibbs would definitely be tougher for me.

Need Tana Talk 4 ASAP. Benny would never.

Keep thinking of 100 (another Royce feature ironically).

New Duke Deuce album, didn’t notice until now but between Moneybagg, Key Glock, and now Duke, there’s a lot of Memphis in my rotation.
Would’ve never pegged you for a trap rap listener.

Don’t know why but for some reason, I thought you were all 100% conscious rap only.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

“I love promoting elevation in the space that all my brothers at
Now why I’m lying, I be turned up to these mumble raps” - Boogie

I just love beats too much. I need equal parts Kendrick eloquence and Key Glock energy to make it through the day. The bass on I’m Just Sayin is just too good.

Conscious albums tend to stay with me longer, maybe because they’re so few and far between, I still think about Drogas Waves. But my most played songs every year are trap and r&b dominated mostly.

Heatin Up....Baby Gunna 2020.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Gunna might the the only Atlanta rapper that I’ve ever listened to from there whose verses will put me to sleep real quick and that’s sad.

Re: Official Hip Hop/Rap Music Thread

Something about his tone and flow, he definitely kinda falls into the beat a lot of the time. I like it but a lot of his songs would sound the same if he wasn’t on them if that makes any sense. He raps on a lot of guitar samples which is an easy in for me. He’s best to me on features where you can see other people try something and then he comes in and it’s like “oh no that’s what it’s supposed to sound like”. Stuff like Midnight with Tessa Thompson, W with Koffee, Numbers with A Boogie. He’s just always in his pocket.

“All this revenue coming in, ill probably never spend
I just bought my BM a Benz, now that’s another Benz
I just cut off all of my friends, and brought my brothers in
I can’t see nobody but me, WHO IM GON LOSE TO
I can’t move around without tools, these ****** loose screws
I can see me taking the lead over the new school”

I can see it too. But they need to turn the beat up on Heatin Up.

Watched Royce’s Breakfast Club interview and listened to the album again. They asked him about the Yelawolf beef and how he responds to Eminem’s old Black women raps, and he said “I’m not standing next to anything that’s not beneficial to my people” and I’m like YO ASK HIM RIGHT THE **** NOW and of course they didn’t.

Oldheads should appreciate the sample on Herb’s intro, I prefer Party In Heaven, even PTSD got Chance back in his old bag. That whole album is pretty decent.

New PND will have you apologizing to your girl for **** you didn’t even do. Jhene remixed a so that’s like 10 years old and it’s dope.

Drake released a new single that’s 2 songs in one, both of which are flames but the video...man pulled out of his mansion in the Rolls Royce with the Spirit of Ecstasy replaced with an OVO owl with diamonds in the eyes. This being broke thing, I hate it here.

DZA Brick on my Neck is dope. Uzi sampling the Backstreet Boys...best release weekend of the year so far.
