I haven't watched it for a lot of years, because it's not close to being what it once was, but it would be weird if it wasn't on TV anymore.

That sentence could also describe my sentiments towards Saturday Night Live, as well.

Re: Is it time for 'The Simpsons' to 'g'oh'?

the simpsons voice actors have had a bloated salary for a long time. They could replace them with new ones and keep the show on the air. Its not like the characters sound exactly like the used to anyways. I think the simpsons are pretty much as funny as they ever were but its hard to get new things when you have 500 or so episodes. They would be better served aging the characters a bit it could open up lots of untapped story lines.

At this point I just watch The Simpsons to pass time until The Macfarlane Hour (and a half) starts...

still sad news.

And it's not like the Simpsons totally suck like it did a few years ago. The writing while not even coming close to the Classic Years has at least been mildly entertaining. To be honest with you, if we're looking at quality content right now i'd say the Simpsons right now is more consistent than Family Guy which has been getting a high clunker to quality ratio in the last couple seasons which has to be quite disturbing to some fans.

(The Meg episode last sunday was "WTF time" tho I did love the animation on Brian's bad mushroom trip)

Sad news. While I agree that the Simpsons hasn't been as great as it once was, I still thoroughly enjoy watching it every Sunday night. It's still leaps and bounds better than The Cleveland Show and just about anything else that Fox will commission to fill its spot. It's a shame that it was so popular and financially successful for so many years that it basically has been held hostage by high voice actor costs.

I think the last episode will break all viewership records.

As for the show...eh, not a big fan of The Simpsons anyway. More room for Seth.

Very Sad, my favorite tv show of all time easily. It sucks it had to go. Imo Golden Years ended when the voice actor for Troy Mcclure died
