Someone said it would be the lower lag. I'm a bit worried about the 40ms. But I don't know if that's even enough to notice a difference. I just worry since the timing of swings and meter pitching have to be so precise.

You won't notice a difference as long as it's under 50 Ms.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

The new Vizio P Quantum X have a peak brightness of 3,000 nits and 480 dimming zones. That so far is the brightest of ANY TV. Impressive. Too bad it's OS is sluggish though. But hey, Vizio is stepping up their game big time. Can't wait for the Hisense and TCL OLEDs to hit the stores for I can check them out.

Competition is a GOOD thing. It will keep these prices in check. The more brands doing OLEDs and Quantum Dot the better.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Really enjoying my new X900F. I seem to have gotten lucky with a great panel this time. But I guess you should expect that from Sony.

One of the things I really like is the upscailing. Cable TV looks way better than it did on my Vizio.

Not that the Vizio P was a bad TV, I just think this one is better overall.

I was a bit worried about the input lag with 1080p games at 40ms, but playing The Show, I notice no more input lag than I did with the Vizio at like 15ms.

The HDR for games is really nice. Wildlands looks stunning with the right settings.

Pretty glad I went with this instead of getting another replacement Vizio.

Re: LCD or OLED? - The TV Thread

Does anyone have lip sync issues with the LG OLEDs? I've seen a bunch of posts on various sites of others having the issue, but not sure if it is everyone or a select few.

Here is the situation. I have built up an OLED collection - B7, C7, C8, and now C9. ALL of them have the same problem.

If I output to a soundbar via optical or ARC (to either a Vizio or LG soundbar...so the soundbars aren't the cause of it) - the internal tv apps work fine. Atmos, 5.1, stereo, all sync up image and sound just fine.

However if I use a connected HDMI source - Xbox One, PS4, and they have their sound output set to Dolby Digital or Dolby Atmos, the sound lags behind the video by maybe a half second or so. If I set the tv to output to the internal speakers, there is no lag. If I change the Xbox or PS4 to DTX output...it syncs up just fine to internal speakers OR soundbar.

So it only happens for a connected HDMI device that has a dolby sound output selected and the tv outputs to the soundbar via optical or ARC. Anyone had this issue and know of a work around? I don't mind leaving the consoles in DTX...but with an Atmos soundbar and a tv that can pass through Atmos sound, it seems like a waste to leave the Xbox on DTX...
