OK, I'm on season 5 of Outlander, it's been pretty cool, but I have a gripe and I'll spoiler it

Jamie got bit by a snake, the poison was sucked out, he should be good, right? Nope, of course not, he gets dragged back to his doctor wife over the course of several days. He doesn't want his leg to get cut off. He finally relents that if all else fails, take his leg.


Then, he dies? and his wife revived him by taking out her boobs and rubbing them on him? what?


I thought this show was trying to be somewhat serious, but reviving a dead guy by rubbing your boobs on him? wtf? Not sure what to do with this show right now

Binged Meltdown: Three Mile Island tonight on Netflix. First two episodes were great, second two got pretty slow, but overall I'd recommend for anyone interested in the topic

The Long Ballad (Netflix, not US)

Chinese drama that I'm hooked on after binging like 14 episodes in 1 day.

It has themes of Mulan and some other famous stories around military advisors in the ancient world.

The main character is a princess who grew up training in martial arts and military strategy. She even disguises herself as a boy on many occasions. Tragedy strikes home as her family is killed and she seeks vengeance on those who murdered them, but she is also always on the run as some in the royal court want her dead.


There is not a ton of action, but there are enough martial arts scenes to be appropriate for the genre.The martial arts are also more realistic than what you see in a lot of Eastern series like this (no gliding through the air). Overall though, action taken a back seat to character development and drama of the court. That's probably a good thing though as most Chinese martial arts dramas are too cheesy.

ETA -
So...I binged the F out of this show this week. 49 episodes, each around 40 minutes, and I watched them all in 4 days. While I don't watch a ton of Chinese dramas compared to Korean ones, this one does take first place for best Chinese series that I've watched to date. The main character was so likable and just so awesome. The plot was consistently engaging, and it did not waste time with filler type episodes. Just a really good series overall.

Enjoyed Outer Range (Amazon), it has some weird parts in it but it kept my interest throughout the season but I feel it might not get renewed. Maybe 1 more season but not seeing a lot pop on it on the socials.

Currently watching Night Sky on Amazon with JK Simmons. It’s another wtf is going in this show type show. I like the characters better here and very interesting sci fi element to it.

JK is great as always. It’s always good when he can be a little bit of a jerk, it’s gold .

Anyway, I hope the season ends well.
