Only 4 CONS to doing so are:

1. NBC is not live but rather on-demand. This is fine except for sports. We got an HD antenna for that and we get channel 4 through that.

2. We lose MTV and Comedy Central = We only very sparingly watched MTV and never watched Comedy Central. Stefanie can watch her MTV shows on their site with limited commercial interruption though.

3. I had to buy a Firestick and a Roky Express for our "not-so-smart" TVs

4. We won't be able to get NFL Sunday Ticket, but honestly our Cowboys/Saints games are usually on TV anyways.

However, there are other PROS besides the $60 a month savings include:

1. Can watch two or three shows at once with a screen splitter that is built into the software. This is great for sports.

2. Watch TV anywhere actually WORKS flawlessly every single time unlike DirecTV which almost never worked or had issues when it did.

3. Picture quality is slightly superior to DirecTV as well.

4. Closed captions are highly configurable and look razor sharp and don't screw up like DirecTV's often did..

If you're thinking about doing this and have questions let me know! We didn't take this move lightly as we watch a lot of TV.
Unless you made a deal with the devil, you were paying a lot more than $125 a month with Direct TV and Sunday Ticket.

Also, just as an FYI, Direct TV has had the side by side feature to watch two channels at once for years that works very well for sports.

They gave me NFL Sunday Ticket free of charge because I asked for it and I was a 10 year customer.

Yeah I know about the side by side on DirecTV but Vue gives you three.

yeah you probably only need like 15mbit connection to stream 1 channel at 1080p 60frps but if you left it it on 24/7 for a whole month you probably end up using 1.8tb of data for that 1 channel

Re: Cord cutting

I was worried about how much data I would use as i have a 1 TB cap. Using it normally, I have never gone over 650G a month.

Yeah with my wife and I both streaming most nights on different TVs, we get up close to that 1TB data limit most months.

Which is why right now it's not ready for everyone. The caps won't be enough for the bandwidth if everyone is doing it. Then add multiple TVs/ devices for a family. You can start using a lot.

Right now it depends on how many streams you do and how long.

Re: Cord cutting

Hopefully CBS All Access is not the future of television. Can't imagine paying $6 per channel. Guess eventually CBS moves anything worth watching over to this rather than keep it on "free" TV.
