Re: ESPN Cleaning House

Yeah, the quality on NFL Network has been trending towards ESPN-lite for awhile.

I used to love their pre/post game shows but I've skipped that since most of the time, they don't talk about **** or it's Deion talking about "MAH BABY!!" or Michael Irvin and his pointless rants. Don't even get me started on that clown Heath Evans.

NBATV's coverage blows ESPN's out the water. Wish there was a way for Turner to get the Finals but Hell will freeze over before that happens.

LOL and I'm a Lebatard fan.

He's either vanilla or shallow as hell like someone else said or sounds like a brainwashed football player (obvious reason why). Never felt he really brought anything to the show.

Le Batard is the best thing going at ESPN by far, IMO. They need to leave that show alone and just let them do their own thing.

Kanell's concussion truther/"war on football" narrative was ridiculously stupid and reckless. I don't want the guy to be unemployed, but I stopped listening to Russillo after he came on and made it a more generic sports-y show.

That's what makes him great. He doesn't even pretend to know everything about what's talked about. Gives off an unpretentious balance that is needed.

Katz and Stark also hurt but they should find decent landing spots.

Re: ESPN Cleaning House

I don't know how any of y'all can stomach LeBatard. He's probably my least favorite sports personality ever, even more than SAS. Once in a blue moon I'll turn on his radio show in my car and I can't listen for more than a minute. His voice, his takes, the format of his show.... ugh it is so terrible.

For me personally, it's the antithesis of everything I hate about modern sports coverage. And they don't shove NFL content down people's throats every day.

Re: ESPN Cleaning House

Odd mix of longtime employees and people they hired in the past 4-10 years (or so) when they expanded across the board.

Firing the more veteran employees is nothing new, as they've proven over and over again that they would rather pay younger talent pennies than pay the most talented people what they deserve. Goes back to ego, and thinking that the ESPN brand can elevate and make anyone into a huge star.
