A legend. His music for the Dollars/No Name trilogy and others defined a genre. I'll always get goosebumps over the Final Duel/Watch music from "For a Few Dollars More".

I always felt like the overly-drawn-out final "Mexican Standoff" scene from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" was basically an excuse to use Morricone's crescendoing music for as long as possible, because it was so memorable. I mean, it was basically 10 minutes of close-ups of eyes while the trumpets and chorus built up in intensity.

It's also one of the most memorable scenes in cinematic history. RIP.
