Ken Jennings was on last night. He was quite emotional during the intro.

That's cool. I remember seeing him on celebrity Jeopardy. Didn't do bad.

Bears, Lions and Vikings fans - "Well, I won't be watching that week "

Hope Aaron has time to tape on Super Bowl Week

Guess you're too young to have seen Richard Dawson, the original host. I thought he was irreplaceable like Alex, but Steve Harvey comes darn close. He is still 2nd fiddle though to Richard.

Ken Jennings is doing a very respectable job and you could even say "Herculean" trying to fill those huge shoes of Alex Trebek. I commend Ken for mentioning him often and stating no one could replace Alex. Still watching every night and feel the tears in my eyes when they display the "memory of Alex" screen at the end.

Re: RIP Alex Trebek

The thing about Ken hosting is that this likely happened a few weeks I believe after Alex passed away, so this was especially fresh in everyone's minds.

Re: RIP Alex Trebek

So far as far as guests hosts go:

- Ken Jennings worked, but I think the voice matters too and I'm not as much of a fan. He'll be busy with his other shows to do it anyway, but he would give that all up to host if offered I'm sure. Great sign-off with "Thank you, Alex."

- The executive producer (Mike Richards) was okay, but he has another job to do and I don't know the personality enough to care, maybe. I mean he was great at it and obviously knows it well, but again it may be his lack of status that is getting in the way for me.

- Katie Couric was dreadful. She was slow with her in-betweens, and was way too much sunshine and rainbows. Though to be fair, I think it was more with because she was just blessed to be on, and is not intending to host anyway.

- Dr. Oz was great and punctual, though did not flare up levity with the contestants too much when he could have. He also has to ditch "Exactly!" as a way of saying a response is correct.

I have yet to see Aaron Rodgers, but I'm really hoping he does his TD dance move when a contestant gets a Daily Double (or a "Discount Double-Check" Daily Double, haha).
