Dexter Revival (Showtime) Fall 2021

https://tvline.com/2021/01/04/dexter...time-season-9/

Quote:
Hall says conversations with Showtime about revisiting Dexter have been “ongoing,” with “different possibilities” emerging “over the years.” What was it about this particular pitch that clicked for him? “The story that’s being told is worth telling in a way that other proposals [weren’t],” he shares. “And I think enough time has passed where it’s become intriguing in a way that it wasn’t before.”

For his part, Phillips shared in a recent interview with THR that he views the new series as “a great opportunity to write a second finale.” However, he insisted that the revival would not right/recon any specific perceived wrongs from that original finale. “We’re not undoing anything,” he maintained. “We’re not going to betray the audience and say, ‘Whoops, that was all a dream.’ What happened in the first eight years happened in the first eight years.”
So far Michael C. Hall has been the only regular announced for the revival. Today it's been announced Clancy Brown will be the main villain for the revival.

Quote:
The acting vet — whose antagonistic TV credits include Carnivale and Billions — will play the series regular role of Kurt Caldwell, the unofficial mayor of the small town of Iron Lake.

Per the official character description, Kurt “realized the American dream by going from driving big rigs, just like his father did, to now owning several trucks and the local truck stop. Powerful, generous, loved by everyone — he’s a true man of the people. If he’s got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for, God help you.”
For those out of the loop, this revival is being handled by the original showrunner Clyde Phillips, the showrunner from Seasons 1-4 when it was actually a good show.

Coincidentally today was Clancy Brown's birthday. He posted this on Twitter.

" Thanks for all the Birthday wishes, twitterpals.
I'm going to spend the day in bed, eating crackers & cornnuts, drinking Mexican Coke, binging DEXTER.
(I will floss after every episode)

For the record, I would have been binging DEXTER for my birthday even if I wasn't joining the show.
It's a whole lotta Millennial TV fun!"

Clancy had a great role on Billions but I'll always connect him with:

I loved Clancy on Billions and that's why I'm stoked for him to the Dexter's final villain. I know he'll crush the role

I figured it was likely but glad to see he's still embracing his dark passenger! Show would've been weird if he wasn't killing

I have no idea how I missed the person wrapped up on the table the first time I watched the trailer.

I guess I was just so focused on Michael C. Hall that it hid in plain sight.

Easy to miss if you're not in full screen. EDIT: Even my pointer missed the head on the screen shot.
