WOW!! John Madden speaks about MADDEN 2006 !!!!

.... well, sort of... i don't know how many of you saw the 2nd Annual Spike TV Video Game Awards tonite, but Madden once again won the award for best sports game, just like last year... however, this year, once madden was announced as the winner, they put john madden on a big screen tv where he thanked everyone who made and bought the game... he also said this:

".....we've been doing this for a long time and we try to get better every year. we think that 2005 was great, and WAIT UNTIL YOU SEE 2006!!; because we're not going to stay complacent-- we're going to go and go and go and be better every year!"

now, of course this could just be typical talk trying to plug next year's game... but at the same time, why would john madden say "wait until you see 2006" if all they are going to do is minor updates... maybe he was hinting at something big to come-- GOD I HOPE SO!! anyway, just wanted to post this for anyone who missed the video game awards tonite!!

Madden is the biggest hypocrite of them all. He broadcasts on ESPN and hypes EA's game. I gues he'll be on the box next year!

What do you expect him to say "Madden 2006 will basically be like 2005 with a new mini game where you get to try and tackle a cheerleader!".

Come on guys. He is told by some PR person what to say and he does it. The PR person knows from reading feedback from the fans through forums like this that people are concerned with lack of improvements from year to year. They then devise a clever statement to tell you what you want to hear lilke "Big changes for Madden 2006, it will be like a whole new game!". Of course it is all talk, much like politicians, they are just greasing you up to buy their game.

How the heck did Tony Hawk whatever get nominated as a Sports Game???

What he is referring to is that unlike this year when Madden actually had some stiff competition from ESPN NFL2k5, next year's Madden 2006 will now be the ONLY place to get an NFL video game fix. The 'wait `til you see' comment is just a way of saying 'we have the NFL all to ourselves now, the other guys don't'. Prepare for Madden 2006 to be the least improved NFL video game to date. Why? Because now there is no reason for them to work HARDER to keep customers.
