There's a small message board where perhaps we can get started on the project....

I am planning on keeping 2k5 alive for at least next year (and possibly longer if need be). If you need any help or input, let me know. [email protected]

I love the idea of doing this... I suck at CAPs and rosters and such but would love to have some new ones!

Re: The ESPN NFL2K5 2006 Project?

isnt there only a certain number of CAP that you can make?
That would hamper creating all the 2005 rookies wouldnt it
If only ESPN could release roster updates

Well there are about 60 or so unknown rookies from last year that you can edit to create this years rookie class. You can also edit players who got cut and replace there picture with Finn's editor.

Also, we should just probaly have a general discussion on how this should be done either in this thread or the ghetto message board I made lol.

this is a good site for the upcoming draft.. They also post workouts from Pro day which is coming soon and the combine..

If your going to use the final Roster Update as your base I have some suggestions on how to tweak the rosters so the game plays better..

in the last update RBs were toned down But so many Rbs have weird agility ratings because of a mistake in last years roster updates...

So all the starters from last year recieved a drop in agility of 6 points.. VC rosters are always cookie cutter solutions.. IE 2k5 all Qbs lost 6 points of speed So cheese would be a lil less... Vick was a 90 now hes a 84 which is still fast...

So my suggestions would be to raise all Rbs like westbrook who is rated 68 for agility to somewhere around 85-90 range...

I did it using Flynns editor the easiest way was to raise all running backs 6 points in agility.. then take all rookie RBS and lower them 6 so it balances out..(look at the rookies tatum bell, julius jones are like 85 for agility yet so many starters from last year were under 70) Their are a few Rbs who you have to manually have to set like scobey for the cards and quinton griffith and TIki who got some love on the last update..

I changed alot of strengths for positions such as DL and OL.. No Wr should be higher than 60 for strength...No D lineman or O lineman should be under 60..

the last roster update did make some LBs faster and some players in general better like priest is a 85 for speed now..

I really like the last update especially the DB aggressiveness its really makes the bad plays on the ball less frequent...

Make all DBs minimum Cover 60.. no CB should be a 44 or 50 even.. thats too low..

No Qb throwing power should be under 66... Vick should be a 90 for speed.. he is the only Qb that deserves that

No players consistancy should be under 50.. O line is especially messed up because of this...

I made a roster like this if anyone wants it I can post it

You guys are forgetting about Flyerfins roster editor you can make whoever you want. If you run out of CAPs slots you can alway edit existing players. I plan on playing 2K5 if VC doesn't put out another football game.
