Man, I am depressed...

Is anyone besides me totally bummed out right about now? When the EA news hit a few months back, I must have gone in denial. Now, I realize that there is no ESPN, I am just so depressed. In a desperate attempt, I picked up NCAA '06 and quickly realized is so crappy that I would rather be playing Mattel Football. I will say this, ESPN 2K5 is my all time favorite game ever. I have NEVER enjoyed a game as much as that one. But now it is gone...

It's not gone. It's just not going to be updated to NFL 2k6.

I played both a ton last year, and just recently I've been playing ESPN NFL 2k5 a bunch. I'm having trouble finding sliders that will give me good, realistic/sim results throughout a whole game.

I found a set that worked for about 3 quarters, then in the 4th quarter I picked off like 4 straight passes and the stats got really skewed.

I'm actually not too disappointed with it now that I think about it. Aside from the familiarity of the ESPN name, NFL 2K2 had some great Sega Sports interfaces, graphics and overlays; great replay lead-ins and cut-aways, outstanding pre-game, just everything was rather top-notch for its time.

Think that if they did the same thing again... no rules or boundaries, all 2K interfaces. I'm not talking about next year, or the year after. I'm talking about in 5 years, after the license exclusitivity is gone. It will be grand!


For the time being, I'm playing ESPN NFL 2K5, not considering to buy another football game this year (I wasn't even if another NFL 2K game came out this year anyway).

i tried to get into Mattel football but it was just too damn glitchy. everytime i played online guys just lined up with He-Man and sacked me everytime. it was unreal.

That's exactly where I'm at. I had planned on maybe renting 2K6, given all the glitches in 2K5. Regardless, Madden is out of the question for me, and has been for three years now. And 2K5 is better than Madden's going to be any time soon anyway. So what's to fret about? Roster updates? Get 'em here

Well, I am sure I can get the updates and get them on (not sure how you do it), but I play online alot. Playing the computer just doesnt do that much for me. There is no solution for that that I know of or is there?
